This tutorial covers a few ways to increase your standing in some of the most popular search engines. There is a possibility that using some of these tips can get your website delisted from some search engines. Use at your own risk.

Step 1 - Create great content! This is the best way of course, creat great content so other sites link to your site. In general, the more links you get, the higher your rank is. Links aren't the only thing the search engines count however, so here are a few more.

Step 2 - Add keywords everywhere. The first place: in hidden fields. Some search engines will count these. Example:

Step 3 - Use keywords in your site title. The more keywords you have, the more search terms will find your site. Include many. As requested, here is a simple tutorial to find out what hardware is installed on your machine. The specific request involved finding out what graphics card was on the system, but this tutorial can be use to find any installed hardware.

Step 1 - Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel

Step 2 - Select System.

Step 3 - Go to the Hardware tab and select Device Manager.

Step 4 - Here is a list of all of the installed hardware on your system. For a video card, go to Display Adapters and expand it. Here are a list of all display adapters installed on your system. Each one with an X through the icon is a device with drivers installed, but is unplugged.

Tutorials can be on almost any subject. All a tutorial does is teach someone something new. Tutorials can be on how to create a cool gadget, how to program in a certain language, how to set up a feature for a web page, how to ride a horse, how to meet girls, or anything else that someone might want to learn.

This is a guide to writing good tutorials (ones that will get accepted on this site.) Writing a good tutorial is easy and fun as long as know these basic steps.

Step 0 - Know your information. Before you even think of writing a tutorial you need to know what you are teaching. This is the most important of all the steps, even a tutorial with bad grammar, no pictures, and incomplete steps will teach the reader something if you know what you are talking about.

Step 1 - Organize your information. A tutorial needs all the information about the subject in the correct order to help another person recreate an experience. Hopefully the reader will learn something useful from your tutorial.

Step 2 - Include lots of pictures. As many as possible. People just love pictures and as they say a picture is worth a thousand words. In tutorials this is absolutely true. (I realize this tutorial contains no pictures, this is one of the few kinds that doesn't need any.) Get them ready beforehand and paste them in as you write.

Step 3 - Write in steps. This makes it easier for people to keep track of where they are. Try to make each step as detailed as possible while still being short enough so a person can remember it without referring back to your tutorial.

Step 4 - Make it fun! People like to have fun while learning something new. :)

How To Make a Hardware Keylogger

Before you start, go down this list and see if you have all the basic stuff needed to do this project on your own: a little bit of experience in electronics a soldering iron a microcontroller programmer supporting the Atmel 89C20XX family
The biggest problem will probably be the programmer. This will be needed only once, to program the AT89C2051 chip. Therefore you can ask someone who does have this type of programmer to program your chip. Once you are ready, buy the following components from your electronics dealer: an Atmel AT89C2051 microcontroller (AT89C1051 or AT89C4051 will do as well) a 24C512 serial EEPROM chip a 12MHz crystal (as small as possible) two 33pF capacitors one 10uF capacitor (as small as possible) one 10kiloohm resistor a small push-button
				Finally you need casing for the device. A good idea is to buy a PS/2 extension cable and a 4-inch piece of heat-shrinkable tubing, which can be thermally wrapped around the ready made device.

How To Make Electric Text (In Photoshop)

This tutorial will go through how to make an image like this with cool electricity coming out of the letters:

Step 1 - Make a large document (mine is 500x500) with a black backround. Write your text in white.

Step 2 - Duplicate the text layer. Rotate 90 degrees. Go to Filter>Stylize>Wind. Hit ok. Apply the wind filter again, but this time from the opposite direction. It should look like this.

Step 3 - Rotate the layer so it is back to normal and apply the wind filter both ways again.

Step 4 - Go to Filter>Distory>Ripple. Hit ok.

Step 5 - Hide all layers but the original text layer and change the text color to black. Rasterize the layer and go to blending options>stroke. Make it a 1 pixel stroke of any color but black, i chose red. Select the magic wand tool and hold shift. Hit each of the letters in the black space. Right click on your selection and select invert selection. Hit delete.

Step 6 - Go back to blending options and deselect the stroke. Show the other layers, it should look like this.

Step 7 - Select the electricity layer and go to blending options. Go to color overlay and choose a very light blue. I chose #D0FEFB. Your done! It should look something like this!

How To Increase Traffic To Your Blog

After doing several hours of research for the last few days on increasing traffic to my blog, I have come over several techniques that come up repeatedly. These techniques are the basics; you should always make sure you are covering these before trying any complicated traffic system. Traffic exchanges like BlogExplosion or Traffic Swarm may help, but these are the things that really attract readers and keep them coming back for more.

Step 1 - Create quality unique content.

This is the most important technique you can use to get noticed. If your content is unique, you have good grammar and punctuation, and people actually want to know what you are telling them, then readers will do your advertising for you via word of mouth. Call it the Google approach, concentrate on quality and advertising isn't necessary.

Step 2 - Post comments.

An easy way to get noticed is to participate in the blogosphere discussion. If you post often in blogs that relate to yours, the writer and readers of that blog will often check out where all these intelligent and thoughtful comments are coming from.

Step 3 - Post often.

The more content you have, the more content someone will find that they like. It also can’t hurt to have people staying on your site longer, reading your stuff (and hopefully clicking on your ads).

Step 4 - Use RSS feeds.

With RSS becoming more popular, it is almost a requirement that you make a feed available for your site. It makes it easier for returning readers to keep track of new content, and will get you more readers that are dedicated in the long run. Feedburner is a great tool for this, as it makes it easy to track how many people are subcribed to your feed and it is compatible with many types of feed.

Step 5 - Ping your site often.

Ping-O-matic and BlogExplosion both have good pinging services that ping multiple sites. If the major indexes such as Technorati and Bloglines don't know who you are, or don't have your most recent content, less people will find you through them. Pinging them only takes a second, and will help increase traffic through these sites significantly.

These five techniques will get your blog traffic, and keep traffic growing better than any others. Best of all, they are all free (in money, time is another thing)!

How To Build A Hoverboard

This is a really cool tutorial if you have the tools and parts required. You need all this:

Basic tool set:

A relatively heavy-duty stapler
Hacksaw
Jigsaw
Drill and a bunch of drill-bits. (A special wood drill-bit that's the same diameter as your plumbing pipe).
An electric screwdriver. (Believe me, you'll need one if you want to save your fingers and palms from bruising).
A craft knife or scalpel
An insurance policy with good fringe benefits.

Materials:

A 30cc Petrol driven leaf blower engine.
A bunch of rainwater piping and connectors - whatever size best fits the nozzle of your leaf blower.
Some form of handy clips that will eventually secure your leaf blower to your board as you might need to put it on and off during building.
More duct tape than is healthy.
Serious amounts of screws - small enough to fix through your plastic grommet (see below) or the fastening for your engine without penetrating the underside of your board.
Plywood - cut to150cm x 60cm
A very large piece of plastic sheeting - like the stuff they use to line ponds (thick enough to repel sharp stones, thin enough to fold and bend to your will easily)
A Plastic 'Grommet' 100cm x 10cm - made out of three joined-up strips of plastic from the bottom of a storage box and duct taped together (so, three plastic strips 33cm x 10cm that make up one big one.)

How To Post HTML Code In Your Blog

I had the hardest time figuring out how to post the code for my Social Bookmarklet tutorial. I finally figured it out, and it wasn't easy to find, but it was easy to implement.

Simply use the tags "textarea" and "/textarea." As an example, here is an image and its code.

How To Create Social Bookmarklets For Your Blog

Before I get started with the tutorial, here is an overview of what each of these social bookmarking sites does. I wrote this on my science and technology blog, ScienTech 2.0, but I didn't explain how to code them to your site.

1. Blinklist - Blinklist is a social bookmarking site where each bookmark gets a "blink." The more blinks a site has, the more people will see it. You can set your blinks to private, if you only want to utilize the bookmark feature, or you can publicize them, and show the world.

2. Furl - Furl is another social bookmarking site that is similar in many ways to blinklist. Furl makes it easier to share websites with friends than blinklist, but it doesn't have as good of a public interface. Furl makes it easy to search all of your past bookmarks as well.

3. del.icio.us - del.icio.us is my favorite of the social bookmarking sites for keeping my bookmarks. Although the website is not as flashy, it gets the job done, and is best integrated with FireFox with a cool extension. del.icio.us is ok for finding new content, but I prefer the next site on the list for that.

4. Digg exclusively for that. Although you can keep your bookmarks there, It isn't as good for that as del.icio.us, blink or furl for that purpose. The non-hierarchal editorial- Digg is my favorite of the social bookmarking sites for new content, I use it almost control and the good community is what makes Digg what it is for finding interesting and important tech news.

Now with that out of the way, we can get on to making the buttons!

Step 1 - Get buttons! I made these myself, except for the del.icio.us one. Feel free to use these. If you decide to make your own, you'll have to change the part of the code to where you hosted your buttons. Keep them all the same size, it looks nicer that way. I chose to make mine 91x17 pixels.

Step 2 - Find where you should put them. In my blogs, I put them after each post. In Blogger, just find where it says Begin Post and has a bunch of stuff that determines what each post will look like. Go to the end of this, before the End Post and before the last /div and paste this code.

Step 3 - Change the code if you have to. It should work without change for anyone on Blogger. The second code is for people whose blogs don't have the same template tags as blogger does.

How To Create a Logo With a Reflection (In Photoshop)

Step 1 - Create a logo. Any logo. It doesn't matter if it has a picture or if it is just plain text, like the King Tuts logo here. It looks best if there is a solid base for the logo, i.e. there are no hanging letters like y's and g's. I fixed that problem by adding the underline to the logo to give it a base so it looks more like it's sitting on top of a glass surface and reflecting than like it's hanging in mid-air.

Step 2 - Duplicate the layer, select the logo, and right click and hit free transform. Right click on the selection and hit flip vertical. Move the inverted logo so the bases of the two line up. If you have to free transform and use the arrow keys to nudge it in to place.

Step 3 - Select the inverted layer, right click, and hit free transform. Grab the bottom middle and pull it up so it scrunches corners and move it away from the the image vertically. Hit free transform again. Right click and hit skew. Grab one of the bottom center of the layer. Skew both away enough so that it looks right.

Step 4 - There is more than one way to do the last part, which is the fade out. My favorite an opinion easiest way is to select thed in backround color and the gradient tool. Go to the Gradient Editor and choose Foreground to Transparent. Apply the gradation and see if it looks right. Undo and reapply if you have to.

That't it! Pretty simple huh? I tried to keep it simple for King Tuts first tutorial, but rest assured that there will be more complicated ones in the future!
